• ChipChat PocketBell Tsushin: Text messenger application for Japan, marketed by Nihon-ChipChat and IBM-Japan.
• Wall-$treet-Link: software to download stock price and volume information then link into your spreadsheet
• Computer-Telex-Link: replaced the ASR-33 paper tape telex machine with a personal computer and ChipChat software

Pioneering Projects

• 1979: Communications services between independent journalist reporting (from Peshawar, Pakistan) to newspapers in the US regarding the Afghan invasion by Soviet Union; an early application of computer:modem communications; predating commercial/popular use of the Internet. The journalist, Mr Kline, used a 'luggable' Osborne computer with a 300 bps modem and ChipChat Software and Services to bypass local telex operators in Pakistan, who read and re-typed onto paper tape, and sometimes censored outgoing messages. Mr Kline beat competitor Agence France-Presse by several hours. (Popular account written-up in 'Microcomputing' magazine)
